Sidekey — Privacy Policy

Short version: Sidekey does not collect, store, sell, or transmit any of your personal data to us or to any third party. There are no accounts, no analytics, and no tracking.

Sidekey turns your iPhone into a wireless keyboard and shortcut pad for a computer you own. It works together with the free Sidekey desktop helper that you run on your own Mac or Windows PC, over your own local Wi‑Fi network.

What information is handled, and how

• Keystrokes and text you send. When you tap a key or send text, it is delivered directly to your own computer over your local network, to the desktop helper you are running. This data is used only to type on your computer. It is never sent to the developer or any third‑party server.
• Camera. The camera is used solely to scan the pairing QR code shown by your computer. Scanning happens on your device; no images are stored or transmitted.
• Local network. Sidekey uses your local network to discover and connect to your computer (via Bonjour/mDNS). It does not access the internet to function.
• Voice typing. The voice‑input button uses your device's built‑in dictation (the microphone key on the system keyboard), which is provided and handled by iOS — not by Sidekey. Sidekey only receives the resulting text, which it then sends to your computer like any other text.
• Pairing token & your layouts. A pairing token and the key layouts you design are stored locally on your device (and the token on your computer) so you don't have to pair every time. They stay on your devices; you can reset the token at any time.

What Sidekey does NOT do

• No user accounts or sign‑in.
• No analytics, telemetry, advertising, or tracking SDKs.
• No collection of contacts, location, photos, or browsing data.
• No selling or sharing of any data — because none is collected.

Children

Sidekey is suitable for all ages and does not knowingly collect any personal information from anyone, including children.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, we will update the date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, note it in the app's release notes.

• 语音输入。语音按钮用的是设备自带的听写功能（系统键盘上的麦克风键），由 iOS 提供和处理，不由 Sidekey 经手。Sidekey 只拿到转换后的文字，再像普通文字一样发到你电脑。
• 配对令牌和你的按键布局。配对令牌、你设计的按键布局都保存在你的设备本地（令牌也存在你电脑上），免得每次重连都要重配。它们只待在你的设备上，令牌随时可重置。

Sidekey 不会做的事

• 没有账号、不需要登录。
• 没有任何统计、遥测、广告或追踪 SDK。
• 不读取通讯录、位置、相册或浏览数据。
• 不出售、不分享任何数据——因为根本不收集。

儿童

Sidekey 适合所有年龄使用，不会有意收集包括儿童在内的任何人的个人信息。

如本政策有变更，我们会更新本页顶部的日期，并在适当时于 App 更新说明中注明。
